Highland School Based Eye Exams

At Progressive Eye Center, we believe in the power of clear vision to unlock every child’s potential. A comprehensive eye exam goes beyond simple vision screening—it evaluates the overall health of the eyes, identifies potential issues early, and ensures that each student has the tools they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
Undiagnosed vision problems can impact learning, development, and even social interaction. For students, clear vision is essential for reading, writing, and engaging with lessons. That’s why regular eye exams are so important, particularly for children in critical stages of development.
At Progressive Eye Center, we are committed to supporting the most vulnerable members of our community. Through a unique partnership with the Highland School District, we provide school-based eye exams for students in need, regardless of their ability to pay. This initiative focuses on underserved and high-risk populations, ensuring students from kindergarten through 12th grade receive the care they deserve.
Our dedicated team, led by Dr. Ellis, conducts thorough vision exams for students attending Cherokee Elementary School, Highland Middle School, Highland High School, and Highland Alternative Education. A clinic optician is on hand to help students select appropriate eyewear. These services help students see clearly, stay focused, and perform their best academically.
The Highland School-Based Health Center was made possible by a grant from the Arkansas Tobacco Excise tax. By offering these essential services free of charge, Progressive Eye Center ensures that no child’s education is hindered by an untreated vision issue. We are proud to serve the Highland community and remain committed to the well-being and success of every student.
